That said, racist remarks should never be tolerated, and it’s right that the minister stepped down. I do think this is a wake-up call for the government to be more mindful of how they approach sensitive topics like immigration. We need to balance enforcing strong borders and upholding cultural values without resorting to discriminatory rhetoric. Hopefully, this situation leads to more responsible dialogue moving forward.
